Welcome to The 2005 Delian Suite web page!
By visiting the following links, you can listen to mp3s of each piano solo, read program notes, and view postcards of the special places that inspired this international musical collaboration by members of the Delian Society. You will also find links to the composers enabling you to acquire free PDF files of each movement.
The Delian Suite was composed during the 2005 Delian Games, held annually in the month of May by the Delian Society. All composer members of the DS were eligible to participate. Each was asked to create a movement for keyboard of approximately a minute in length evoking her/his "sense of place" about a familiar natural or built environmental setting. It was understood in advance that the movements could be performed individually or combined to form a suite, although no particular order of movements is specified. All those contributing to the project display either a white gold or yellow gold 2005 Delian Games medallion on their web pages.
